Summer Vacation

The Kennedy's got to spend a week away!
We went to Northwest South Dakota where Salyna's Dad & Stepmom live, approximately 762miles and 16 hrs worth of van time! We started in the afternoon after picking up Sydni & Davis from camp and arrived early the following morning. Everyone did pretty well traveling except Lincoln. He wasn't feeling well on the way up there so he was pretty fussy and didn't sleep much. Thankfully it was the complete opposite on the way home!
So what did we do for a week... a lot and a lot of nothing! How is that possible?!

Anyway... after the 762 miles home through nearly 3 entire states...

I'm certain we didn't miss ANY bugs and I lost count of how many times we washed the windshield!

Ok, back to the beginning...
just after crossing into South Dakota we had a welcoming committee, in the middle of the road, black angus probably...

Little travellers always make the trip interesting... not sure when this smile was captured amidst the fussiness, but it sure it cute!

It had been a couple years since our kids had seen there 1st cousin (and only cousin) Gatlin. They all really enjoyed Grandpa & Grandma's vast yard!

The day we arrived was a whirlwind of tiredness, people, and food. There was a large gathering of people for Salyna's stepmom's birthday.
This was the first time Salyna's family (dad's side) had all been together in over 4 yrs. So there was an attempt to have a family picture taken. With Lincoln not feeling well and Andrew fast asleep, we opted to not torture them (or ourselves) for the pictures.
Here is Salyna with her stepbrother, two stepsisters, nephew, dad, & stepmom.... and the dog.

Lots more pics coming in post #2

Vacation #2

*disclaimer - blogger was once again very unfriendly with posting a bunch of pics, sorry they are smaller*

On the 4th of July we all made a trip to the sheep farm!

Andrew really enjoyed all the room to run during our entire trip!

Nothing like finding farm kitties in the barn!

Playing with firecrackers and smoke bombs before dark and the real fireworks!

Grandpa took us to check out the lake.
Picture of Sydni and Gatlin.
Buffalo, on the way back to town.

We spent one day in Spearfish (where we used to live) and Sundance, Wyoming, having dinner with friends. Here is a picture along the creek where we used to walk. One of our favorite family spots!

Taking a break from the rain inside McDonalds.

Beautiful Wyoming landscape!

It is always great to spend time with our Liggett friends!! Rya loved Mocha!

Paige and Sydni have been friends since they were a few months old. It seems like they always just pick up right where they left off!

Buttes in South Dakota. They are so pretty, they look fake, like a picture.

So our last day we planned on going fishing...

This was OUR plan...

This was THEIR plan... they won. But because it wasn't OUR plan, we didn't have any towels with us...

So they had to run around in their skiveys while their clothes dried
Huck Finn??

Some creatures we found...

Back to OUR plan :)
And last, but not least, Mocha... enjoying the sun during the roadtrip. She had fun too. She had a friend to play with and lots of room to run!

Some things not detailed in pictures...
country drives
walks along a country road
kids playing at the school
BBQing
campfires
late night talks
Miles even worked with Dad cleaning carpets!
Now back to life... school starts in less than 4 weeks. Andrew has a developmental appointment with a specialist. More baby doc appointments. Miles transitioning back to the Mobile Clinic.
Next post??? Baby Girl names???
